Clash of Clans TH14 War Base Strategy

A detailed guide to attacking a Town Hall 14 war base with a Hybrid Miner-Hog strategy.

The Base

Below is the Town Hall 14 war base we’ll be attacking. It’s a highly compartmentalized layout with strong defenses like Inferno Towers, Eagle Artillery, and Scattershots.

Clash of Clans TH14 War Base

Base Analysis

Let’s break down the base to identify its strengths and weaknesses:

  1. Layout Overview:
    • The base is highly compartmentalized with multiple layers of walls, slowing down ground troops.
    • The Town Hall is centrally located, surrounded by high-value defenses.
    • Symmetrical design, which can be exploited with a well-planned attack.
  2. Key Defenses:
    • Inferno Towers: Three in total, set to multi-target mode, dangerous for swarm troops.
    • Eagle Artillery: Centrally located, will activate early.
    • Scattershots: Positioned to shred swarm troops like Minions or Balloons.
    • Air Defenses: Spread out, making air attacks viable but risky.
    • X-Bows: Wide coverage, likely set to ground and air mode.
    • Hidden Teslas and Traps: Likely near the Town Hall or in funneling paths.
    • Clan Castle: Centrally located, troops will be pulled early.
  3. Weaknesses:
    • Limited anti-air coverage on the top-left and bottom-right sides.
    • Outer compartments are exposed, good for funneling.
    • Queen and King are in outer compartments, easier to target early.
  4. Clan Castle and Heroes:
    • Clan Castle likely has strong troops (e.g., Dragons, Electro Dragons).
    • Enemy Heroes are spread out, can be targeted individually.

Attack Strategy: Hybrid Miner-Hog Attack

We’ll use a Hybrid Miner-Hog attack, combining a Queen Charge with Miners and Hog Riders to handle the base’s defenses and compartmentalization.

Army Composition

Attack Plan

  1. Funneling and Queen Charge (Top-Left Side):
    • Attack from the top-left side, targeting the Archer Queen and outer defenses.
    • Deploy 2 Balloons to take out the outer Archer Tower and Cannon.
    • Drop the Flame Flinger to snipe outer defenses.
    • Deploy the Archer Queen with 5 Healers, supported by 1 Yeti and 1 Baby Dragon on each side to funnel.
    • Use Wall Breakers to open the first compartment.
    • Use a Rage Spell to boost the Queen’s damage, taking out the enemy Archer Queen and an Inferno Tower.
  2. Pull and Deal with Clan Castle Troops:
    • Pull the Clan Castle troops with the Queen Charge.
    • Drop the Electro Dragon to clear them, use the Poison Spell to slow them down.
    • Use a Freeze Spell if there’s a Dragon or Electro Dragon.
  3. Main Attack (Top-Left to Center):
    • Deploy the Log Launcher aimed at the Town Hall.
    • Drop the Barbarian King, Grand Warden, and Royal Champion behind the Log Launcher.
    • Deploy 10 Hog Riders in two groups to take out remaining defenses.
    • Drop 20 Miners behind the Heroes to swarm the core, use a Heal Spell to keep them alive.
  4. Core Push and Spell Usage:
    • Use a Freeze Spell on the central Inferno Tower.
    • Drop a Rage Spell in the core to boost your troops.
    • Use the Grand Warden’s Eternal Tome ability to make troops invulnerable while destroying the Town Hall.
    • Use the Royal Champion’s Seeking Shield to target key defenses.
  5. Cleanup:
    • Miners and Hog Riders should handle cleanup.
    • Use the second Heal Spell to keep them alive.
    • Use the remaining Freeze Spell on any active high-value defenses.

Key Tips for Success

Alternative Strategy: Electro Dragon + Balloons

An air attack with Electro Dragons and Balloons could also work, starting from the bottom-right side. However, it’s riskier due to the multi-target Infernos and Seeking Air Mines.

Conclusion

The Hybrid Miner-Hog attack should give you a strong chance at a 3-star on this base. Practice in a friendly challenge to refine your funneling and spell timing!
